We are delighted to welcome Ginny Kearns and David Silk as Trustees of St Mary’s Arts Centre.

Ginny Kearns joins us with extensive experience in fundraising and development, including involvement with English National Ballet’s £6 million fundraising campaign and Save the Children’s Night of Music. Her experience will be particularly important as St Mary’s moves into a major fundraising phase in 2027, supporting our plans to improve the building while securing its future as an arts, heritage and community venue for Sandwich.

Ginny will take the lead Trustee role for Fundraising and Governance, helping us develop our fundraising strategy, identify potential grant funders and donors, and coordinate major applications and campaigns.

We are equally pleased to welcome David Silk, who already knows St Mary’s extremely well. David has supported the Arts Centre for around ten years, helping with events, concerts and exhibitions, and more recently contributing photography to the new St Mary’s website. His 40-year career in retail management and extensive involvement with local arts and community organisations bring valuable experience in presentation, customer service and community engagement.

As Marketing and Site Management Liaison Trustee, David will work closely with the Site Manager to promote St Mary’s, develop the visitor experience, communicate its remarkable history and strengthen links with local audiences and organisations.

Their appointments add two very different but complementary areas of experience to the Trustee team at an important point in St Mary’s development.
