Hey, it's started, take a look below!
GODSHILL WILD: TAKE PART!
Godshill Village will be taking part in the Isle of Wight Biosphere Festival 2026 with an event called Godshill Wild. The Biosphere Festival celebrates the unique status of the Island as a UNESCO BIOSPHERE RESERVE (one of only 3 in this country) and runs weeklong across the whole Island in late June.
In a nutshell, being a Biosphere Reserve isn’t just about having a special landscape, nature, wildlife and history. It’s about the people and the communities that live and work there, and the special relationship they share with their environment, working in harmony with it, caring about and looking after it.
Godshill Wild will take place on Saturday June 27th, 11am - 4pm in May Close – using the facilities at the Scout Hall and adjoining Green Space (including Munsley Bog).
Godshill Wild will be a community event that celebrates our village and the people that care about Godshill. It’s for families to enjoy, with lots to learn about and take part in. It will be a free, fun, and informal event, aimed at residents and visitors alike.
We are now inviting creative partners, nature and heritage organisations and local community groups to share this celebration with us. For instance… you might like to provide an information stand and/or participation activities, run a traditional craft stall and/or demonstration, perform live music or put on a display. We want to showcase our own distinct village character and vibrant local community. Please get in touch if you have an idea or would like to be involved.
Guideline: Please consider the Biosphere Festival’s core principles when considering the suitability of your proposed activity. They are: valuing heritage, protecting nature, sharing knowledge, taking climate action, building liveability, safeguarding future generations, and celebrating local identity.
