Amenities & Environment

COUNCILLOR CONTACTS: Carl Donoclift, Keith Crane and Russell Dyke

This group manages parish amenities including the memorial garden, village green, public conveniences, and cemetery. It encourages environmentally responsible practices and promotes green energy and effective use of green spaces. The group reviews environmental documents sent to the Parish Council enabling it to respond and react appropriately. This group also acts as the contact point for all matters relating to the Children's and Young People's Playground and Parish Recreation Ground Charity (Reg No 288005) which owns the two playparks, Central Mead and May Close.

RESPONSIBILITIES / TERMS OF REFERENCE

  • To oversee management of all amenities and the local environment to the benefit of the Godshill community
  • To create a 3-year rolling plan for management of all amenities and the local environment. This will include: Trees, vegetation control, formal or informal planting and wildlife; Hard landscaping, such as seating, paths, boundary and gate maintenance; Accessibility, Health and Safety and security.
  • To explore how the local community wants our amenities and environment to be managed and if they wish to take an active role through establishment of specific friends groups.
