Private Herbert Charles King (26564), 8th Battalion Royal Berks

Herbert Charles King died on 21st March 1918, he was 22 years old, he served with the 8th Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment. He is one of 14,690 casualties commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial in France.

He was born in 1896 and baptised in Great Coxwell, his mother Alice Mary and father Ernest had 4 other children:

Frederick (1889), Walter Henry (1891), Florence (1894), Francis (1899)

Herbert is commemorated on the Great Coxwell memorial and in St. Giles Church.
