Robert Edmonds

Sapper Robert John Edmonds (2112211), Royal Engineers

Robert died on 30th May 1941, he was 21 years old. He served with the Royal Engineers. Robert is buried in Egypt at the Alexandria (Chatby) Military and War Memorial Cemetery

Born in 1920, his mother Annie and father Robert Baden, had another son James who died 2 years later in 1943 flying a Wellington bomber.

Robert had married Lilian Fleming in late 1940, they were married barely six months when Robert died.

Robert John Edmonds is commemorated on the Great Coxwell memorial and in St. Giles Church.
