Glossary of Terms.      

JACK - the smaller target ball that you bowl towards  

WOOD - the colloquial name given to your bowl (from when they were made of wood)                 

MAT - the position you bowl from (standing on the mat) 

DELIVERY - how you direct the jack or woods into play

HEAD - the name of where the jack surrounded by bowls develops during an end  

END - the individual element of a match

WICK - the movement of a bowl after making contact with another bowl in the head

BLOCKER - bowl that prevents an opponents bowl from achieving a desired action

RINK - where the match takes place.
