Our Mission

The name 'Harrow Weald Bowling Club' is as defined by Rule.2 of the club's constitution.  The name of the club might be what most clubs would make as their first rule.  So what is this clubs first rule.  Rule.1 - "The object of the club is to provide facilities & promote the participation of the whole community in the sport of bowls".  Then, as now, we believe that playing the sport of bowls can provide interactive physical and mental stimulation to anyone in our community who have reached a time in their lives when they are not getting such opportunities elsewhere.  As a bowling club we play 'competitive bowls', a physical game (but not strenulously so) that requires concentration.  But we also play 'just for fun' and just enjoy each other's company.  Beyond bowls we are seeing the need for social activities and offer a 'no charge Associate (social) Membership' and have weekly events in the summer and monthly in the winter.  At Harrow Weald, everyone is welcome and equal no matter of their ability, or perhaps, disablity.
