Getting this game to the start line wasn't easy but once we eventually got to Russell Howard, it looked an intriguing contest. It was a hard fought game between two very good teams. The Fire's smooth technical style of play was not as prominent as the previous encounter vs the Wizards, however the compete level was very high.
The first half started well as the Fire created numerous chances.Jay was immense and was rewarded with the only goal of the half. Winklebury tied the game early in the second half and appeared to be gaining in confidence. Berri made numerous saves to keep the game at 1-1. However with 10 minutes to play, Isaac released a ball into the channel for Jack to run into. Jack took a couple of touches before launching a venomous strike into the back of the net. The boys were solid defensively until the referee eventually blew the final whistle.
It has been another great season for the Fire and tonight I observed the team really come together and play hard for each other. I'm sat here sipping on a cup of tea thinking how proud I am to coach these boys.
The helmet was given to Carps tonight. Winning tackle after tackle, controlling the ball and making plays, he led the team to success. His energy was off the scale. Both Carps and Jay played the full 60 minutes and their superior fitness was certainly evident.
    Well done boys! Extremely proud!
