LAUNCH OF NEW HIGH HALDEN VILLAGE WEBSITE

www.highhalden.org.uk

We have been working on a new village website for several months and were planning to have a “big launch” at the village meeting in April. However, with the Coronavirus Lockdown and all the ramifications very much upon us, we want to let everyone know that the site is up and running. (The old website is being redirected to this new village site).

The website will, over the coming weeks and months, have important updates and information relevent to local residents as well as some good news stories and village pictures. Through the website we will be able to issue newsletters without the need to print and deliver so that we can get information out quickly across the village.  The site will work alongside the village Facebook page and in liaison with the High Halden ‘Covid 19’ Community Group.

Please visit the website at https://www.highhalden.org.uk and register for email alerts for news and events. This will mean that when a newsletter is issued on the site you will receive an email alert. Signing up for the alerts is easy:

Click on sign up for our email alerts

THEN:

  • Enter your email address,
  • Tick news
  • Tick “I agree to the privacy policy”,
  • Click Create
  • You will receive an email confirming you have set up alert
  • Click “receive alerts” on the email.

If you have information, links, good news stories or pictures which you would like to be added or if you become aware that information needs updating or if you would like to help with the website please contact us via the website contact page or email villagehighhalden@gmail.com

WHAT ABOUT THOSE WITHOUT ACCESS TO THE INTERNET AND ONLINE SOCIAL MEDIA? There are many in our village who cannot access the internet, Facebook etc and it is vital that they stay in the loop. If you know someone then please talk to them (by phone or from a distance when delivering items) and update them with any news. If they want a copy of any newsletters please print one for them or let us know via the contact page or villagehighhalden@gmail.com  so that we can arrange for a printed copy to be sent or delivered to them.

When the lock down is over and life begins to return to normal the website will have up to date information about community groups of all types and activities across the village – things which we will all value so much more after what we are all going through now.

24th March 2020  "High Halden Covid 19 Community Group"

The coming weeks and months are going to be challenging for us all. The "community" can help us all through these unprecedented times.  A group comprising volunteers from around the village has been set up called  "High Halden Covid 19 Community Group" or HHC19CG for short!.  This group is dedicated to providing support to family, friends (old and new) and neighbours around the village as it is needed. This  can be by providing information, collecting and delivering shopping or prescriptions, posting letters or perhaps just having a friendly chat over the phone or social media.

March 31st 2020 - This website has been created under the joint ownership of High Halden Village Events Committee, High Halden War Memorial Hall and High Halden Parish Council. It will run alongside and be linked to the new Parish Council Website which has been  set up concurrently.

It is planned that the site will provide information about village organisations and clubs, services and facilities, events and activities and wider issues relevant to the village and its residents.  Under the framework provided by HugoFox, who will be hosting this site, it will be possible for the site to be kept up to date and relevant. A small committee will administer the site with individuals authorised to update specific pages.

If you have any ideas, suggestions or would like to be involved please let us know via the contact page.

There are 2 Defibrillators in the village which can be found at:
