Water supply improvements, Lower Ansty, Higher Ansty and Hilton
Wessex Water is investing £400,000 in your area to carry out essential work on the supply network in yourarea, replacing water mains that are ageing or prone to leaks. This work will help us to improve water quality and ensure a more reliable supply for local customers for years to come.
This six-month scheme, which will get under way on Monday 28 September 2026 and is expected to finish on Friday 12 March 2027, will involve work taking place on a number of roads in the area.
The project will take place in three phases.
Monday 28 September – Friday 9 November 2026 – The road between Aller Lane, Lower Ansty and Ansty Cross will be closed to through traffic, with a signposted diversion in place.
Friday 9 November – Friday 18 December 2026 - The road from Ansty Cross to Ansty Hollow into Higher Ansty will be closed to through traffic, with a signposted diversion in place.
Monday 4 January – Friday 12 March 2027 - The road from Ansty Cross to Hillside into Hilton will be closed to through traffic, with a signposted diversion in place.
During the Christmas and new year period (18 December 2026 – 4 January 2027), the road network will be open as normal.
The map includes further details as to the phased closures.
Access will be maintained for residents, but it may be delayed at times, and our on-site team will work with local customers with regard to any specific access requirements. Alternative routes will be clearly signposted and access will be provided for emergency vehicles.
There may be times where work needs to continue into the evenings but, whenever possible, we will aim to give nearby customers advanced notice of this. Water supply services can be used as normal unless we advise otherwise.
