Dear resident,

We wrote to you on the 10th May regarding the early works taking place along the A1301.

These early works involved the creation of the construction access roads as well as trial holes along the verge of the A1301 north of the A505 roundabout to establish the exact location of utilities to inform the design of the A1301 improvement works, which start later this year.

The trial hole works will now progress further along the A1301 south of the A505 roundabout up to the M11/A11 roundabout. Eighteen trial holes will need to be dug along the verge and footway/cycleway parallel to the A1301.

As the first eight trial holes will be completed on the southbound verges, these works can be progressed from within the Campus expansion land and therefore the road, footway and cycleways will not be affected. This work will take place on site between Monday 24th July – Friday 4th August.

Monday 7th August – Friday 25th August

The remaining ten trial holes are located in the A1301 verges and/or footway/cycleway and therefore short sections of the road and/or footway/cycleway will be closed for each trial hole. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation between 09:30 and 15:30 daily to create safe working zones for workers on site.

A short diversion route around the works area will also be provided for footway and cycleway users however, due to the reduced width, cyclists are asked to dismount as they pass through the diversion route.

During the lane closure, a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) will be in place to reduce the speed limit to 30mph and will only apply where the works take place. This will support the safety of the contractor’s workforce and road users whilst the work is carried out.

*Please note that the precise dates and times of the works may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience and disruption that you may experience during this time. We will continue to monitor the works and reduce the impact to residents as much as possible, whilst continuing to keep you updated on progress. If you have any questions, please call 01223 622 533 or email hinxton@urbanandcivic.com

Yours faithfully,

V.Patel
