The next Film Night will be ‘The Roses’ on Friday 18th September. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman, it has received very good reviews and is based on a novel – The Wars of the Roses (1981) by Warren Adler. ‘Life seems easy for a picture-perfect couple Ivy and Theo Rose: successful careers, a loving marriage, great kids. But beneath the façade of their supposedly ideal life, a storm is brewing. As Theo's career nose-dives while Ivy's own ambitions take off, a tinderbox of fierce competition and hidden resentment ignites in this wonderfully wry, dark comedy.’
