The Hound Local History Society was formed in 1987 with the aim to promote all aspects of the history in the villages of Hound, Netley Abbey, Butlocks Heath and Old Netley.

It normally holds six meetings a year at St Edwards Church Hall, Grange Road, Netley Abbey, SO31 5FF.  New members and visitors are always welcome.

In 2016 the Society opened a History Room at Netley Station to store its archives that are available for visitors to view.  It's open on the last Saturday of each month from 1000h to 1300h.
