First Generation

KELLUM Lebbeus, was born about 1784 in Somerset County Pennsylvania, USA. Born in Wallenpaupack, Wayne County, Pennsylvania, USA on 1767 to John KillamJr  and Sarah[Rockwell] Killam. Lebbeus Kellum married Sophia Ansley and had 8 children. He passed away on 26 Oct 1856 in Waterford, Ontario, Canada. He appeared on the census in 1851 in Townsend Township, Norfolk County, Ontario age 64 born PA.  He died on Oct 26 1856 in Townsend Township, Norfolk County, Ontario. age 72 years (Tombstone) He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Waterford, ON.  He served in the military. 2ndRegiment Norfolk Militia Nominal list of transfers from the First to the second or reserve Battalion between the 24th Dec 1830 and the24th June 1831 Kellum Lebbeus date 4 Jun 1831 Company or Reserve First (Men of Upper Canada, Militia Nominal Rolls, 1828-1829)

Sophia Ansley appeared on the census in 1851 in Townsend Township, Norfolk County, Ontario age 58 born PA.  She appeared on the census in 1861 in Townsend Township, Norfolk County, Ontario age 73 born PA.  She died on Jun 20 1870 in Townsend Township, Norfolk County, Ontario.  She was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Waterford, ON.

(1891 Farmers' Directory Post Office Waterford - Internet) He died on Mar 17 1901 in Townsend Township, Norfolk County, Ontario.  He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Waterford, ON.

Electa Kellum, spinster in Townsend, died 19 April 1897; her estate was valued at $987.67 (no real estate).  She left a will dated 4 July 1893 witnessed by Charles H. Kitchen, a teacher in Niagara Falls, and his wife Eliza Martha Kitchen. The executor was Eli S. Barber, an accountant in the village of Vanessa.  Relationships Mentioned: Neice Ruby Barber; neice Lavinia Ketchum; sister Mrs Backus; Nephew Eli S Barber. Bequests were also made, without specifying any family relationship, to Jane Wilson and Mrs Eli Barber.

Probate Records: Died 19 June 1864 in twp of Hanover. Heirs: Mrs Ellen M Kelllum, widow, residence in Jackson Co Michigan. Her father Wm Perrott who was made administrator. Petition filed 23 July 1864. Joseph E Beebe/Jude of Probate.
