Welcome to the Kirklinton (Middle) Parish Council's website. Our aim in providing this facility is to give you easy access to information about the Parish Council and what is happening around the parish. The Parish Council is made up of eight Councillors and a Parish Clerk. There details can be found elsewhere within this website.
Kirklinton (Middle) Parish Council is one of the smallest councils in Cumbria. It meets on five occasions every year in Fir Ends School. Members of the local community and press are invited. In addition we arrange an annual parish meeting which is an opportunity for the local community to attend and raise issues which they would like the Parish Council to consider.
The parish of Kirklinton (Middle) has a population of only 370 and the main settlement within the parish is the village of Smithfield. It is situated in a pleasant rural area consisting of gently undulating countryside. The village has an excellent primary school (Fir Ends), local garage (Smithfield Garage), a church (St. Cuthbert's), and a restaurant (Skitby House).
