We are a well established bowls club with over 60s years of experience playing in Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas. Our ground is situated at Langford’s playing field adjacent to the Ivel river. It’s an ideal spot to enjoy a game of bowls with new and old friends. We offer a full range of bowling activities to suit all abilities, interests and those who are new to bowls.
Our outdoor fixtures are for both men and women together with mixed matches. Over 60s members can play mixed friendlies on Wednesday afternoons. And we play in indoor leagues and competitions at various venues.
We enter both men and women teams to play in the East Beds District League and annually hold club competitions. And regularly host Bedfordshire County and Bedfordshire VP fixtures, where all can be entertained in our club house and its well-stocked bar.
As of 2016 Langford Playing Bowls Club will be adopting the Bowls England regulation on wearing of sandals on the bowls green.
Bowls England Regulation: No.51
2.6 During play, white flat soled shoes will worn on the green. Sandals will not be permitted in events under the jurisdiction of Bowls England except medical circumstances where doctor’s note has been provided.
To avoid embarrassment to visiting teams can you make your members aware that sandals will not be allowed on our green unless accompanied by a Doctor’s note.
