Linslade Bowls Club were pleased to host the Quarter and Semi Finals of the Bowls Bedfordshire County Fours Championship on Sunday where we were entertained by some bowling of the highest standard, and in which Andrew Manning and Roly Hammond from Sharnbrook, beat David Payne and Kevin Tift by 23-14, while Grant Osborne and Roly Barker beat Mick Gaylor and Dominic Mussino 23-11. and these winning two pairs will now represent Bedfordshire at the National Championships in Royal Leamington Spa during August.
Linslade Club continues to do well themselves in the County League with an excellent 9 point win against Flitwick, and also achieved another win in the Scott cup against Houghton,,,, Highest winning Rink being D Bacon, L Smith and P Lee.
Went on to win... by 15 against West Herts - new fixture this year HWR L Zinnbauer, JH Smith, Peter Davies
Won County League fixture against Dunstable by 8 HWR D Bacon, J Holister, J Lumsden, M Bennett
Won Against Hemel by 15 HWR D Mason, J Carpenter,M Hancock, L Mason
But then lost In the L&D League, Linslade could not keep there recent good form going, and dropped points on three out of the four for rinks, But a special mention should be given to Tim Hitchock, John Beaverage, Pete Gittings and Martin Bennett who came back from 12 points down to get the only points of the day.
Unfortunately unable to replicate last year's great run in the Pell shield and got knocked out in the quarter finals.

Ladies also lost their National top club game after trying hard against Potton losing by 4 shots after a great game by both teams.
