Give Back? Volunteer!

The hall is run by volunteers.  We have a mixture of trustees and others who prefer to volunteer their time for specific tasks.

If you wish to know more about the role of a trustee - additional information can be found here:

Trustees have a legal responsibility to act in the best interests of the charity, manage the charity's resources responsibly and act with reasonable care and skill.

The committee is always looking for new volunteers to help take care of this beautiful community asset, help with running fundraising events for the community and offering skills or experience to keep everything ticking along.

Specific tasks include:

  • Manning the cake stand, raffle or other fundraising stalls.
  • Manning the box office when we bring theatre to our community.
  • Manning the bar, acting as MC or organising a quiz to help with our charity fundraising.
  • Taking bookings or showing the hall to a new hirer.
  • Doing the weekly inspection of the play equipment (checking off a checklist & training available)
  • Keeping the website up to date, or launching a social media campaign to promote our charity!
  • Undertaking minor repairs and maintenance that you are competent to perform.
  • Arranging contractors & trades to quote and carry out more complex and specialist repairs and maintenance

It IS very rewarding to work collectively as a team to keep the hall running for the local community.
