2026

This year's Australian Pairs day was contested by 10 pairs, all hoping to win the Brian Snow trophy.

Partners were drawn from a hat, and everybody played 4 games of 6 ends against randomly drawn opponents. Amassing points along the way, both for ends won and matches won, it was incredibly close at the end. The 2 top teams were due to contest the final, and with one round of matches to go, most were still in with a realistic chance of making it. In the end, the top team was Liz Dyer & Bruce Acock on 22 points with Richard Lambert, along with Annette Oliver and Gail Robertson (they shared a place) coming in second on 21 points. The next teams scored 20, 19, 18 17 and 16 points. It really was that close.

In the Final Richard, Annette and Gail were successful, although it must be said that Liz & Bruce had lots of bad luck, otherwise the result may well have been different. A big thank you to everybody for playing in the right spirit, and for contributing to a fabulous bring and share lunch.

Thanks also go to the Ladies who performed their usual magic, and made everything look splendid, as well as keeping the tea and coffee flowing.
