Opening of the new Playground Equipment

Earlier this week the hard work of a small team of Martinstown Village Hall Trustees paid off, when new equipment was officially opened by a group of excited children. As part of the "Active Martinstown Initiative" the trustees applied for a grant to fund the changes. The play park and outdoor gym apparatus was installed just recently by 'Creative Play'. The new play park equipment was voted a great success by all present especially the children who, straight out of school, had plenty of energy to burn off. All of the 19 children, who attended, received a Creme Egg to enjoy while they played and exercised in the fresh air.

The Village Hall Trustees solely fund and manage the play park for community use from their own resources and fund raising events. With the help of a group of 'Friends', maintenance parties keep the area in tip top condition throughout the year.  Funding is always at the forefront of any decisions and in order to make this possible, a substantial grant was applied for, and successfully gained, from the Lottery Community Fund.
