The Recreation Ground is a large fenced open space left to the village and run as a charity by the Trustees of the Recreation Ground for the benefit of the village and surrounding communities.

It currently supports a range of activities including children's play and outdoor educational activities, cricket, croquet and boules.

Middleton cum Fordley W.I. recently planted a heritage orchard.

The Pavilion, which includes toilets and kitchen facilities, is available for use by members of the public for functions and events.
