The NHPCSG was well represented this week at two separate community events.

On Tuesday 11th June we took our prostate cancer awareness and group information stand to Sainsbury's distribution depot in Basingstoke as part of their health and wellbeing week. The depot employs about a thousand staff in their warehouse and as truck drivers, and operates 24 hours a day dispatching goods to Sainsbury’s stores in our area. Our stand was located in their staff cafeteria where there was a constant steam of Sainsburys Colleagues passing through.

On Friday 14th June we went to Andover for the third Living With and Beyond Cancer event sponsored by Macmillan Cancer Support and the North Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust.(HHFT) This was open to members of the public and featured talks and discussions on healthy eating, keeping active and dealing with fatigue. As the well as NHPCSG, many other local voluntary cancer support organisations had information stands including, Pink Place/Blue Space, The Wessex Cancer Trust, HAGAG – Asbestos diseases support, and the HHFT Cancer Services Partnership.
Both events were well supported and we thank both of the organisers for inviting us to participate, giving us the opportunity to provide support where we can, and raise awareness for our group and prostate cancer in general.
