Summary

The application is currently at the Examination Stage which is being undertaken by the government agency responsible, the Planning Inspectorate.

Two hearings have already been held at the Newark Showground.

The Examination timetable can be found on the Planning Inspectorate's web page below:-

Once the examination has been completed (28th April 2026) the Planning Inspectorate will make a recommendation the Secretary of State (Ed Miliband) within 3 months.

The Secretary of State then has a further 3 months to make his decision.

Once a decision is made, there is a 6-week window during which the decision can be legally challenged in the High Court via Judicial Review.

Development would then likely start in 2027 and last for approximately 2 years.
