NORTH MYMMS AT POTTERS 2025

A group of 20 bowlers (mainly from North Mymms) had a five day Away Break at Potters, Hopton-on-Sea from 10th to 14th November 2025 with eight of the group entering the Bowls League competition.

Team 1 consisted of Pam Bond, Sue Burbidge, Joyce Clark and Ivan Coleman and Team 2 was Martin Barson (North Mymms) who was joined by Mary and Roy Banks and Dave Sankey (all from Hatfield Bowls Club).  Both teams played 4 games in the league stage.

Team 1 won all four of their games which qualified them to play in the "last sixteen" while Team 2 won three of their four games but that was enough to get them through to the "last sixteen" as well.

Each team put up a good fight in their "last sixteen" matches but were defeated and eliminated as that was a knockout stage. Despite not progressing any further both teams had a great time and were well supported by the other North Mymms bowlers who chose to take part in the less competitive activities available at Potters rather than bowling.

Well done to Pam Bond for organising an excellent break.

DENNIS LESTER RECEIVES SPOONS AWARDS

Alex Donovan, who organises our Spoon drives, decided that this year we should acknowledge one of the bowlers who have supported Spoons well during the season.  He has done this by a points system whereby a bowler gets 1 point for attendance, 2 points for a rink win and 1 point for a draw (added up across the season from June onwards when we started it).

This year's worthy winner was Dennis Lester, so Alex Donovan presented him with the spoon at the last spoon drive of the season.  Many congratulations go to Dennis.
