Onibury Parish Council

Onibury is a small parish; the village centre located approximately 5 miles north of Ludlow, divided by the A.49, its River Onny Bridge and the infamous level crossing reputed to be the only 45 degree level crossing in the country.

Having a population of some 297 adults, (source 2011 census) Onibury boasts a C of E affiliated school, St. Michael’s & All Angels Church, Village Hall and public house. The parish is mainly agricultural led with some businesses located in and around the area.

Whilst there was a railway station that closed many years ago, public transport in the form of regular north and south bus services are available. Buses are operated by Minsterley Motors and the relevant route is the Number 435.

Nearest railway stations are located in Ludlow & Craven Arms, giving access to Shrewsbury, Crewe and Manchester to the north, Hereford, Newport and Cardiff to the south.

Train services are operated by Arriva Trains Wales. www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk

National Cycle Route 44 passes through the parish en route between Ludlow and Bishops Castle.

There are varied walks and leisure activities on offer within the Parish.
