In the draft Local Plan 2042, Test Valley Borough Council have included two proposed housing development sites adjacent to Danebury School, Longstock, known as SHELAA Sites 237 and 479. These have been earmarked for a development of 100 houses (although further development of the neighbouring plot is then highly likely).
The Pan Parish Planning Forum (PPP Forum) - a collaborative Pan Parish alliance incorporating representatives from Stockbridge, Longstock and Houghton Parish Councils, SOS-Stockbridge, CPRE and local resident groups - is calling on Test Valley Borough Council to remove the two proposed sites from the draft Local Plan with immediate effect.
The deadline for the Regulation 18 Public Consultation for the draft Local Plan was Friday 5 September. Along with the Parish Councils themselves and various other groups like the recently-formed Pan Parish Planning Forum, the CPRE, and the Test & Itchen Association (you can find their various responses on the 'Parish Council Responses' section of this website), many, many residents submitted responses. We will update this website as and when there are further developments.
On this website you will find: information about what is proposed, information about the consultation process and some of the responses submitted, presentations made in some of the meetings held, as well as other information such as future meetings, press releases, relevant images and minutes of previous public meetings, etc.
We are three parishes but are speaking with one voice to get ourselves heard and to preserve this precious site and the health of the iconic River Test for posterity and the sake of the environment.
