Superfast broadband now available in Sandford Orcas
Residents and businesses won't get faster broadband automatically. People must contact their supplier and ask to switch to a fibre service. Superfast broadband is now cheaper than ever. The cost will depend on what the customer orders, but prices can be comparable to standard broadband.
People can check the coverage map to see availability and future plans at www.dorsetforyou.com/superfast
Restored Fingerpost in Over Compton
The traditional fingerpost sign in Over Compton, which was in a rather sorry state, has been restored to its former glory by Councillor Clive Yendole. Fingerposts are a characteristic feature of the Dorset countryside, but unfortunately the County Council no longer has a remit to repair them. Cllr Yendole volunteered his time and the Parish Council paid for the materials. If you haven't yet seen the real thing, you can see the fruits of his labour in these before and after pictures..
