Who is Red George for?
Red George Rural Skills Project is for young people who may not thrive in a traditional classroom environment and who benefit from practical, hands-on learning.
We primarily support young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), helping them develop skills, confidence and independence at their own pace.
Learning takes place through real practical activities, including animal care, horticulture, rural skills, maintenance and working outdoors.
Red George can help young people to:
- Build confidence and self-esteem
- Develop practical and life skills
- Improve communication and independence
- Develop resilience and problem-solving skills
- Gain recognised qualifications and certificates
- Discover interests and skills for their future
Learning differently
Every young person is different. Our flexible, practical and pupil-centred approach gives them the opportunity to learn by doing, build on their strengths and experience success in a supportive environment.
Red George is about helping young people discover what they are capable of and take their next steps with confidence.
Referral to Red George is mainly through - Local Authority SEND teams, Schools & Social Care.
Referral process:
- Referring agency completes and returns the referral form below.
- An informal visit for the young person, parents/carers and/or teachers will then be arranged .
- If the young person would like to attend and we can meet their needs a suitable day and time to attend will be arranged when space is available.
