In 2020, our Treasurer, Jeanette Mizen, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease
This is a debilitating condition that leads to the sufferers ending up in a wheelchair and unable to speak.

The local branch raise funds for people living with MND in South Essex as well as research to find effective treatment and a cure.
Your donations mean a lot and the typical way your money could be spent is:
- £10 provides an information pack to someone newly diagnosed with MND
- £30 buys an adapted cutlery set to help someone feed themselves
- £100 funds laboratory equipment for two days vital research
- £300 provides a basic level of respite care for one day
- £550 funds a tablet computer to enable communication with loved ones.
- £1000 will pay for a detailed DNA test to understand the causes of MND
- £1500 funds a the installation of a stair left to gain access all over the house
