Welcome to the website of Shuttington & Alvecote Parish Council
This site is maintained and developed by the Parish Council to provide local residents with up-to-date information about council activities, community services, village news, and historical insights. The parish includes the villages of Shuttington and Alvecote, located at the northern tip of Warwickshire, just 4 miles northeast of Tamworth and close to the River Anker and Coventry Canal. Shuttington is steeped in history — it was mentioned in the Domesday Book and was held by Alvecote Priory from 1159 until the Dissolution. The parish church dates back to around 1150 and remains a central part of village life today.
