About Us

Sileby Bowls Club was founded in 1935 and over the years has supplied both National and County Presidents.

The season runs from the middle of April to the end of September.

We run men's and ladies teams in the Leagues and also a mixed team in friendlies.

The men play in the Loughborough League on Monday afternoons and Thursday evenings and in the Leicester League on Wednesday evenings.

The ladies play in the Loughborough League on Tuesday mornings and in an Aussie Pairs competition on Monday evening.

The mixed teams play on Saturday afternoon.

We also run internal club competitions.

As with most clubs we always need new members, both experienced bowlers and people who have never played before.

If you fancy trying it out please come along to a Tuesday night roll-up. You will be most welcome and you can have several free sessions whilst you make your mind up. There will always be members available to familiarise you with the basics. The club has a selection of second-hand bowls you can borrow but you will need a pair of shoes with no heels to put on whilst on the green. Trainers are suitable.

Leicester City Football Club and our Green 3rd May 2021

LCFC helped lay a new our green in May 2021. A big thank you to John Ledwidge and his team for all the hard work they put into helping with the green. John is the head groundsman for Leicester and  his team have just won the 2018 IOG SGL "Professional Football Grounds Team of the Year".

Greens require continual maintenance and Sileby Bowls relies on its members to volunteer with maintenance.
