WELCOME TO SPRING PARK SHIRLEY BOWLS CLUB WEBSITE
You are probably aware that in August the 2026 Commonwealth Games will start but...
DID YOU KNOW:
That bowls is one of the original six sports on the Commonwealth Games programme, meaning it has been played at every Games since 1930, with the exception of Kingston 1966, where no Bowls facilities were available.
Major sporting events (like the Commonwealth Games - CG) often influence people to try a sport. Why wait till the CG to give bowls a go, get ahead of the curve and give lawn bowls a go at Spring Park Shirley BC.
It is T-minus 11 weeks (and counting) till our week of taster sessions starts. Read on to find out more about us and to sign up for a taster session.
We are a very friendly club and all abilities are welcome. We hold informal roll-ups every week day afternoon in the season (Late April to end of September) with League and friendly matches on some week-day and weekend afternoons. We also open on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. The bowling green can be open on other evenings by arrangement. Please note, anyone of any ability, young or old, can enjoy playing bowls.
