Beginners

New to bowls?

Come and join us and learn to play bowls at a friendly, sociable club in St. Ives.

Taster Sessions

As the club goes into 'winter mode' why not come along on a Sunday afternoon and try out the game of bowls. The Clubhouse converts into a winter bowling venue most Sundays from 2.00pm throughout the winter months. All are welcome to join club members and try out bowling - the social game for all ages.

Contact our Chairman Delvene Matthews for further information.

Where are we?

St Ives Bowling Club
The Belyars
Trenwith Lane
St Ives
Cornwall
TR26 2BT

It is best to approach the club along Belyars Lane (narrow), not Trenwith Lane (very narrow!). See the map on our Contact page for further guidance. There is plenty of car parking available at the club.

What do I need to wear?

For Taster Sessions, all you need are flat-soled ‘closed’ shoes. No heels allowed on the green! Other than the shoes, wear what’s comfortable.

What about bowls?

We can provide the woods (bowls) for you to use in these 'roll-up' taster sessions.

Who will be there?

Club members will guide you through the session, explaining the fundamentals of bowls and some of the basic rules, and let you practise on the green or mat (if indoors).

And then?

Members can play in social 'roll-ups', Club competitions and against other clubs in league games and tournaments.
