Almost 18 months ago, Stowe Nine Churches Parish Council made the decision to develop a “Village Design Statement” (VDS). A VDS is a document that describes the distinctive characteristics of the locality, and provides design guidance to influence future planning and development. More than 50 residents attended an initial public meeting and subsequently, the VDS has been developed through a range of volunteer Working Parties. The resulting document has now reached the stage where it has been approved by the Parish Council, and adopted by Daventry District Council as the local Planning Authority and is now part of the local planning framework.
