The weekend part of the TLH Autumn Short Mat Festival, which ran from Friday to Monday, ended this morning.

In addition to Sally and Richard's success in the Pairs Plate, Steve Clayton was already a winner, having picked up a bottle of wine as Top Man in the opening Bowls Drive.

This morning's Triples Final in the main competition was an all Dorset affair. The 20 teams were whittled down to just two... June and Eugene Balbinski and Anna Booth from Cerne Abbas against Stuart, Steve and Richard from Tarrant Clayton, .... sorry - Tarrant Keyneston!

Our boys established an early lead which they kept until the ninth end, but on end ten their opponents scored two shots to level the match at 9 - 9, and force an extra end.

June Balbinski's penultimate bowl looked to win the match, not only holding but also leaving Richard with only one difficult option. His final bowl stunned those watching, seeing him resting on the jack, and winning the shot by just a fraction of an inch!

Well done guys! Many thanks to Sarah Vinnicombe, the TLH Bowls Co-ordinator, for the photo.
