Victory Park Bowls Club

Victory Park Bowls Club was formed in 1919 and 2019 is our CENTENARY YEAR. We will be hosting a 'Special Gala Day' on Sunday 26th May 2019. A momentous anniversary and something to be proud to be part of.

We are situated in a lovely spot on the edge of Victory Park near Cainscross, Stroud. We pride ourselves on being a very friendly club offering games to suit all all abilities including those with a competitive streak.

Our season this year runs from  April 21st 2018 all the way through until the September 20th. Every May Bank holiday we have a tour which is organised by our treasurer and lasts 4 days. Normally we go South but it varies every year and we get to play on some of the nicest rinks with the nicest people.

Games include weekend friendlies on both Saturdays & Sundays with midweek triples matches every week. Mens leagues and Ladies leagues.  Every Friday evening we have a social night including drinks at the bar, food and competitive but friendly quiz, all following on after the fun triples league games have been played.

Although we have a good, strong membership we are always open to new members of all ages, 8 years old being the youngest currently and they would have to be accompanied by a responsible adult, even if they have never tried the game before. You just need a pair of flat-heeled shoes and some enthusiasm to learn the game!

We are planning to extend our kitchen area this year and add new kitchen equiplemt/appliances  to enable us to prepare, cook and serve hot food for the visiting teams for the Gloucestershire league matches and Friday night socials.

For The 2018 season, our open day is Sunday 29th April between 11 am and 3 pm. Come along, see if you like and maybe join our merry band. There will be bowlers of varying abilities to point you in the right direction if you have never played before and bowls are available for you to try. We ask you wear flat, soft soled shoes to help protect the green and all equipment is free as is the try-out.

See you soon.
