Social Events

Through the year the Shed organises a number of social events including talk and fish and chip supper evenings at the Cowplain Activity Centre.

BBQ on the First Friday of every month at 12:00 - All welcome, it's a good time for non-members to visit the shed to see if you would like to join. This is funded by your membership and is a chance to meet other 'Shedders' in a social gathering.

Visit to Kings Theatre Portsmouth 23rd March 2026.

We have an opportunity to join a tour of this beautiful theatre next year. A list will go up in the galley after Christmas. The tour will be conducted by a costumed tour guide and will take you to areas not usually open to the public. He will highlight both the history of the theatre and the social period of when it was built. The numbers will have to be limited to twenty places but a second can be organised if there is a demand. Cost will be £7:80 (intend to round up to £8:00 for ease of accounting) The odd twenty pence going to the WMS funds. Commencement time will be 1030 meeting in the entrance foyer. Due to the nature of the theatre there are many stairs, so take this in to consideration when applying your name. The tour will conclude approximately. 1215 in the Dress Circle Bar for tea and coffee refreshments and possibly a ghost story and should be complete by 1300. Own transport but recommend car share as parking is difficult in the local area.

We are happy to organise any occasion or trip members feel may be of interest to others.

The ladies

The wives, partners, girlfriends also meet on an occasional basis away from the Shed, and take part in all our social activities if they wish to.
