THE CLUB

Welcome to the virtual clubhouse of Wellington Bowls, an outdoor flat green mixed bowls club in Herefordshire. 

This year is our 30th anniversary and we will be playing a Celebration Match on June 1st, against a Herefordshire Presidents' team, exactly 30 years since the green was officially opened in 1996.

We play competitively in the Tarmac League, the Hereford Mens League, friendly matches and other club competitions. 

Come and give bowls a try. We are a very friendly club and welcome new members of all ages and abilities.

We give a full introduction to the sport of bowls.All that is needed to start is a pair of flat soled shoes, all other equipment is provided. 

PLAYING SURFACE

We have an all weather artificial surface, which plays like a closely cut grass green on a dry summers day, installed in 2014. 

A wood takes between 12 and 13 seconds to travel down the green, which is faster than most grass greens.

MEMBERS

We have both men and women members and welcome friends in wheelchairs as we have three wheelchairs for use on bowls greens. 

We also have a wide selection of woods for new members to try. 

Once they have found a set of woods they like, members usually buy their own woods.
