Westborough Bowls Club is a small, friendly club based in the Allington area of Maidstone. 2025 was a special year for us as we celebrated our 100th anniversary.

Over the years, we have played in a variety of locations, most recently at the former Sharps bowling green behind the Pippin pub in London Road.  Our lease on that site ran out in April 2026 so we are busy looking for a new home. In the meantime, we are continuing to play a full schedule of matches, hosted by our friends at other local clubs.

Headcorn Bowls Club Ladies Triples Tournament Thursday 25th June 2026

Three Westborough BC ladies took part in the Headcorn Ladies Triples Tournament this year. The original format was to play 4 games of 9 ends but due to the weather this was reduced to 4 games of 5 ends. WBC ladies played two games against Kemsley ladies and won both games. Their next game was against Hunton, which they also won. Their final game was against Northiam, unfortunately WBC ladies lost this game. However despite losing their final game WBC ladies were the overall winners of the tournament. The ladies that played were Pat Gill and Eileen.

Tom Hood & Maggie Hutchinson

It is with great sadness that we have received news that Tom Hood passed away on Tuesday 30th June 2026. During his bowling career Tom played for Westborough, Maidstone and indoors at Mote Park. Tom won numerous competitions at Westborough including Novice Singles, Charles Sedge Cup, Mixed Pairs and Mixed Triples. Toms partner; Maggie Hutchinson also played at Westborough winning the ladies pairs in 2012. Sadly, Maggie passed away on Friday 26th June 2026

Tom’s funeral will be on Monday 20th July at 1pm at Vinters Park Crematorium,
