Jacqui Bexfield - Chair
Worked for ARUP Newcastle until 2000. I was a councillor for Widdrington Station until 2011. I was a trustee, manager, volunteer at ATAC Community Hall until 2025 when I decided to then run for Parish Chair using my previous knowledge as a councillor as reference. I work within the village as a volunteer at Grange Garage and i have lived in village since 2001.

Tina Wills-Porter - Councillor
I joined the parish council for Widdrington and Stobswood in May 2025. I was initially drawn to become a councillor, as I wanted to see why the council bills were being increased by an average of 10% and joining the parish council has given me an insight of costs. Following joining I am shocked as to how much the council has to pay out to repair things in the village that have been vandalised.
I moved to the village in 2018 and was struck by how friendly everyone was. I loved the community spirit that evolved during covid, people helping each other out with shopping, the scare crows that everyone made were fantastic.
On a personal level, I retired last year, I can often be seen in the village walking my 3 Shih Tzu’s. I consider myself to be approachable and will do my best to serve the community to the best of my ability.

Wendy Childs - Councillor
My name is Wendy Childs, and I have proudly served as a councillor for the Widdrington Station and Stobswood Parish for the past three and a half years. My primary motivation for joining the parish council was to listen to our residents and work collaboratively to improve our local area.
I am deeply committed to hands-on community service. My recent projects include helping design the now-popular Stobswood play park and catering the Elderberries Christmas lunch for 60 guests. Beyond my council duties, I am a dedicated volunteer at Widdy Welcomes, where I run the Thursday morning Pop-up Café and coordinate the Wednesday food pantry. For the past four years, I have also managed the winter Warm Hub, personally shopping for, prepping, and cooking weekly meals for 60 people. When I am not volunteering or working on parish matters, I enjoy spending my time at my allotment growing seasonal vegetables and helping out with Medical Cadets on Wednesday's

Scott Dickinson - County Councillor
As one of your local County Councillors, I’m proud to represent the communities of Widdrington Station and Stobswood areas with a strong sense of identity, resilience, and community spirit.
I have had the privilege of serving as a County Councillor since 2013, representing different parts of the Druridge Bay area over that time. Following the most recent boundary changes, I now represent all communities on the beach side of the line, including Widdrington Station and Stobswood. This gives me a strong understanding of both the history of our area and the challenges and opportunities we face today.
I work closely with Widdrington Station and Stobswood Parish Council as and when they need me, recognising that they are a council in their own right, with their own Councillors who play an important role in representing residents. It’s often at parish level where day-to-day issues are first raised, whether that’s highways concerns, local facilities, environmental matters, or the small but vital things that make a difference to people’s lives. I am committed to supporting that work and helping to get things done.
Across the area, I continue to push for investment in our roads, footpaths, and public spaces, as well as supporting initiatives that strengthen community wellbeing.
I hold bi-monthly resident drop-in sessions and make myself available regularly within our communities. In between, I can often be found at the Residents Support Hub at Hadston House, where people can raise issues or seek advice.
I firmly believe that strong communities are built through collaboration. Whether it’s supporting local projects, responding to concerns raised by residents, or advocating for our area at County Hall, my focus is always on delivering for the people who live here.
