Good morning all.

After extensive hair pulling and head scratching we just cannot deter the password and member area setup facility sending reminders to some or all, whether required or not!

Background

lots , (and I mean lots!), of time and effort has been spent setting up a password accessible area on our YBA site. The take up has been commendable (over 150 seperate bowlers registered - so far), within that process we have been held back by a number of issues...

  • untimely setting of time sensitive password requests. ( now extended to 5 days from receipt)
  • Lack of confidence/knowledge to complete the above. - please reach out to a friend or club member to show/ do for you.
  • *Tiresome emails from HF system to constantly reset an already functioning password .

*I have personally followed up on as many emails highlighting the issue to a point where I have resigned myself to the possibility that we just cannot cease the bulk sending of reminders when resending password setup details to those with expired set up emails.

It is hoped that the imminent overhaul of the websites main functioning parts will put the issue to bed once and for all.

Message to ALL members with or without passwords

The message I am driving home today is - Please let your better judgement rule any action on receiving a request to set up again.

  • Have you done it already?

If so

  • check it still works
  • Visit the site when you have a chance

NO access

  • let us know

HAVE access

  • do nothing - all is fine

Whilst I work hard to sort this issue with HFox in the background a solution , unfortunately, continues to evade us.

You are not missing much - YET .....Until we have a good percentage members onto the system we will keep the amount of information in the Members area down to a minimum... At present Competition contact information.

In time (possible examples)

  • Minutes of meetings
  • Future plans
  • Exclusive member offers/deals
  • Sub committtee communications
  • etc, etc, etc

Best regards

Lee
