Again this year(2018) on Sunday 22 April Christchurch Twinning Association partcipated in the Anzac Day commemoration service at St Nicholas Church (Brockenhurst) by enabling the laying of a wreath in memory of the fallen members of the New Zealand military during WW1. A dozen twinning members joined the VIPs, local groups and members of the public at the Church and Commonwealth War Memorial.

This year was different as we had Robyn Anderson from our sister city of Christchurch to lay the wreath on behalf of her home country

Robyn was here in Christchurch to undertake research into WW1 activity in and around Christchurch (UK) and the wider area as part of a funded scholarship awarded by the sister city committee of her home city in New Zealand .

This has been a wonderful opportunity to again engage in the true Spirit of Twinning with Robyn joining with us for social events and members of Christchurch Twinning Association providing the local history knowledge, experienced research contacts and transport.

We are all looking forward to hearing the first of her Podcasts.

Her visit and her involvement with the twinning members has now sparked new interests within the Christchurch Twinning Community about the WW1 activities of NZ soldiers.
