I am looking forward to meeting and talking to as many people as you think relevant to my project which at the moment is called, "Hells Ticket Home." My intention is to follow several NZ soldiers from the battlefields, through the CC stations, S.Hospitals, onto the trains and ships and to the various NZ hospitals in England then back to NZ.
I am looking for stories that connect the NZ soldiers and nurses to the village communities. I also want to highlight the work done every year by the Anzac committee at Brockenhurst and the links between the two Christchurch cities.
Above an extract from Robyn's email to the committee .
She will be in the UK for two weeks from 12th April until 24th undertaking her research as part of a project funded by our sister city of Christchurch New Zealand.
Members of Christchurch Twinning Association (UK) are eagerly looking forward to meeting with her and assisting Robyn wherever possible during her "two weeks topside" undertaking research into the activities of WW1 soldiers in the local area. Robyn intends to be spending her time between Christchurch, Brockenhurst and London.
Arrangements are in hand to enable her to meet with local historians and visit known sites .
