FAQ

When is the Green Available?

The green is open from 11am each day, except on Sundays. Members can come 'on spec' or book themselves into the rink book which is in the clubhouse.

How do I join a match?

Simply add your name to an availability sheet, located on the notice boards in the Clubhouse. Or you could ask another member how to do it online. If selected, you will be notified, by email, about a week prior to the game. Should you be a reserve for a match, you will be guaranteed to play next time you are available.

What is the dress code for matches?

For 99% of matches, a Club top and either navy trousers, navy shorts or a navy skort, will be required. (No jeans, please). White trousers are worn in limited games. Any casual clothing for 'roll-ups'.

What equipment is available?

Mats, jacks, pushers, rink markers, and scoreboards are to be found in the equipment shed. Bowls are stored in the clubhouse.  Please help yourself.  All that we ask, is that your return them to their home.

What fees do I pay, and when?

Annual fees are payable at the pre-season meeting which takes place in March. Please see the Membership tab, for details. There is no charge to members, to come and have a 'roll up'.  If you have elected to play in a match, then match fees apply and these can range, typically, from £3 - £5.  Generally the £5 matches includes food.

Can I help out with the club in any way?

Members are encouraged to help out in various ways with the running of the club. You may find that you are able to offer your time in the following areas:

  • Cutting the lawn
  • Ad hoc maintenance
  • Catering
  • Gardening
  • Cleaning
