Lockdown

April 2020

#135

Lost A Day

Lost a day
such a frantic routine
wake and wonder
light shapes windows

switch-radio still rambling
jumble of similar words
horror of what they mean

it was a frosty
misted morning
when trees appear smoky

it was later I realised
A whole day had slipped through me
ghosted into a slice
stepping from one date into another
A trace removed
key passing through a door
without a twist
everything still running
the lost day fluttering
unable to place itself
in my memory (17th April 2020)

20 is a tunnel -longway to go
19 You’re in
18 speeding up
17 stumble underfoot
16 too far in to turn back
15 no fame here
14 A curve -broken rock
13 Darkness has leaked in
12 Stumble again
11 Not just me?
10 A web brushes my face
9 See nothing now
8 Damp, water and shadows
7 loose scramble upwards
6 low, scrape on my head
5 stop, breath deeper
4 still as I can
3 more deeper water/ 2 light gone / 1 1 1 1 1 (17/4/2020)
