Many thanks to households that have already returned their completed Acol Household Surveys. This weekend Councillors will start calling at homes from which completed responses haven’t yet been received to collect responses.

We acknowledge concerns that have been expressed about the nature of some questions, which stem from our wish to follow guidance that states “a good starting point is to look at the socio-economic profile of the local population; population trends, local employment, industries and social trends should be identified; predominant land uses in the neighbourhood area may be identified; other evidence may relate to things like housing, transport, natural environments, built heritage, retail centres, urban design, community facilities and any other subjects relevant to the planning and development of the area.”

Our aim is to minimise the cost to our community, and we rely, at this stage, on only very limited resource. It is, nevertheless, a vital first stage in evidence gathering towards the development of a Local Neighbourhood Plan whose achievement will provide lasting community benefits.
