Speedwatch

Acol Parish Council Speedwatch

The Acol Speedwatch Group, which operates on The Street, Minster Road, Plumstone Road, Margate Hill and Crispe Road, is constantly on the lookout for new volunteers. The following video explains more about the scheme. Please email Cllr. Richard Steel to find out how you can help by volunteering for just a few hours per month.

The Parish Council has also approved the purchase of Auto Speedwatch which will considerably enhance our ability to detect and deter speeding motorists in our village but, to be supported by the Police, we must be able to show that we have a team of regularly active volunteers. The purchase is therefore on hold until we can demonstrate a regular team presence across the Acol sites. To that end, ALL PARISH COUNCILLORS have now committed to taking part in, at least, monthly sessions. In general, Councillors Gavin & Wendy Winpenny will undertake sessions on the 2nd Saturday of each month, and Councillors Chenice Butterworth & Sarah Corby will undertake sessions on the first Wednesday, monthly. Councillor Richard Steel will continue to be involved in ad-hoc sessions and training.

Many thanks, on behalf of our community, to the people who regularly volunteer and help to make our streets safer. 👏
