Five trees in Acol Recreation Ground that had ash dieback have been felled and cut into logs, along with the tree that was brought-down in the recent storm. At present the field is too muddy to drive a truck on to remove the logs, so they have been stacked along the edge until spring, when they'll be removed. In the meantime, if villagers wish to take any logs for their own use, and at their own risk, they are welcome to do so. The wood should, of course, be well seasoned for around a year before burning.
