Thanet's Cycling & Walking Infrastructure Plan
Acol Parish Council
Help create a vision for the future of walking and cycling in Thanet
Sustrans are working with Thanet District Council to develop a Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (CWIP). Sustrans is the charity making it easier for people to walk and cycle.
They would like to invite you to a public engagement workshop to help identify a walking and cycling network for the district.
The CWIP is a district wide plan which will help Thanet combat climate change whilst also improving air quality, health, and access for everyone. It seeks to connect people and places across the district with safe and accessible routes for everyone and anyone to travel in a more sustainable way.
This element of the project will focus on the rural parts of the district and will tie in with work undertaken by Sustrans in 2021 which focussed on the urban areas of Thanet.
Once drafted, the network will be prioritised, and a costed programme of high-level proposals will be developed for which Thanet District Council will then seek funding opportunities.
Sustrans are hosting this workshop to help understand who is currently walking or cycling and where they want to go, but also importantly, who is not currently walking or cycling, and what the barriers are.
The workshop will be open to the general public between 3 pm & 7 pm on Thursday 22nd June in Minster.
- General Public Workshop – Thursday 22nd June 2023 – Minster Village Hall, High Street, Minster, Ramsgate, CT12 4BU
You DO NOT need to attend the whole event. Just drop-in for however long you want, even if it’s just for 10 minutes.
Sustrans are also developing an online consultation tool which will be available later this summer if you can’t attend any of the workshops.
