Celebratory Tea Party

Bishop John Finney and Canon David Keene

On April 20th a celebratory tea party was held at Averham Church for Bishop John Finney and Canon David Keene to note not just their 90th birthdays this year but also their unstinting support within our Benefice throughout their ‘retirement’.  Canon David (who resides in Averham with his wife Muriel) and Bishop John have supported our churches through the many years when there wasn’t a vicar and also more recently throughout Rev’d Georgie’s illness.

Carole Binks baked a cake which was beautifully decorated by Alison Allen. Tea, coffee and scones were also on offer and lots of people (and dogs) turned up to wish John and David a happy birthday.
